After opening the high-performance rail line through the Tullnerfeld, ÖBB Infrastruktur AG is further upgrading the Westbahn rail line, awarding Austrian construction company Strabag the contract to build the section West between St. Pölten and Loosdorf. The contract has a value of 32.6 mn euros, Strabag announced.
An essential component of the order is the construction of the Radleiten Tunnel, the Radleiten Trough with Wildbrücke bridge, and the Bründlkapellen Tunnel. The project also comprises reinforced concrete structures, earthworks and track substructure, drainage facilities, road construction and noise mitigation measures.
