The Xetra® system has been implemented at the Prague Stock Exchange. According to the CEE Stock Exchange Group (Ceeseg) this was part of the strategy to open national markets to foreign investors to the maximum extent. Due to the widespread availability of the Xetra® system, international trading members now have easier access to trading at the Prague Stock Exchange. The new system offers many additional advantages for current exchange members. Thanks to wide possibilities regarding system connectivity, they enjoy easier access to foreign markets that also use XETRA®. There are currently more than 250 banks and investment companies as well as several thousand registered traders worldwide trading via this system.
The trading system Xetra® replaced the old system SPAD, which had been used since 1998. In total, 2 million transactions were executed via SPAD at a total value of almost CZK 6 trillion.
With the Xetra® implementation at the Budapest Stock Exchange, which is already planned for the second half of 2013, all member exchanges of the Ceeseg will be using a common trading system.
