Agrana today announced that it is expanding its market presence in North America by constructing a fruit preparation plant in the Northeastern Region of the US. The exact location has not yet been fixed. The total investment amounts to around 40 mn dollars (30 mn euros). Accordingly, from mid-2014, Agrana will produce fruit preparations for the dairy, baking and ice-cream industries at four locations in the United States.
“Building this new plant represents an important strategic step for AGRANA in our efforts to consolidate our market leadership in the US fruit preparation segment over the long term. With the new production capacity of 45,000 tonnes annually, we are creating the conditions to achieve this,” says CEO Johann Marihart.
Agrana currently operates three North American production sites in Botkins|Ohio, Centerville|Tennessee and Fort Worth|Texas and has its Corporate Offices and NPD Center in Brecksville/Ohio.
